Trim the wick before each burn to prevent black soot and allow a clean burn
Allow ample time for wax to melt to edges of vessel to prevent tunneling
Burn for only 3-4 hours at a time
Never leave a burning candle unattended
Discontinue burning the candle when 1/4 inch of wax is all that remains in the jar.
